The EZ Scan is designed to make one axis (Z-Axis) encoded so when the transducer moves via the encoder, so does the image on the screen. The EZ Scan is also rated up to 500F° of intermittent use and is magnetic which is ideal for pipes (4" o.d. and larger) and storage tanks. The scanner comes complete with a couplant feed inlet, DHT-537RM high temp, 5.o Mhz, dual transducer with removable 10ft cable and interface to either the EHC-09DLCW or other devices. The EZ Scan can be sold with new EHC-09DLCW's or we can retrofit gages already purchased. With the use of Data XL Pro, even the B-Scan images can be sent to the computer. The EZ Scan can also be configured for applications interfacing to other devices such as digital ultrasonic flaw detectors or phased array units. The EZ Scan is a quadrature encoder with resolution of data collection points as low as .016" or .4mm to detect the smallest of pits.

Our New EZ Scan is a small, magnetic wheel, high temperature linear encoder specifically designed for use with the Color WAVE gage.Download Brochure Here
The above image displays the information obtained when using the EZ Scan in B-Scan (cross sectional view) mode. This image shows a 3 step test block with 2 and part of a third flat bottom hole. Also note, the thickness in the top right of .577 inch at the spot where the triangle is located on the far left and DT for Distance Traveled (-9.350") indicating how far the encoder has moved. The B-Scans can be saved to the computer (up to 100K readings) to Microsoft Excel or the actual image of the B-Scan via our optional data xl pro. When combined with the minimum depth alarm, the B-Scan can dynamically change from Green to Yellow to Red indicating a good, marginal or critical minimum thickness has been tripped.
Color Coded B-Scan, a cross sectional representation of a 5 step test block with colors corresponding to alarm, red to left exceed high alarm, yellow are caution as readings are getting close to a high and/or low alarm and green represents a good reading. Cursor (white line on right of screen) can be used to scroll left and right to display thickness value. B-Scan is standard on EHC-09DL CW.
